Jen Walker

Epidemiologist

Jen Walker grew up in Sudbury, Ontario. Her family is from Six Nation of Grand River. She currently has two careers at Laurentian University as an Assistant Professor and primarily as a Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Health (epidemiologist). Right after high school, Jen obtained a degree in Health Studies and soon after she entered a Masters program for a year then she transitioned to a Doctorate program in Epidemiology at the University of Calgary. She hopes to encourage others to gain a career in health to build capacity in that field of work within First Nation communities.
